Session 2 of the Angling for All Project took place on Saturday the 18th of February at Beechhill Fishery near Newtownards.
The day started overcast with a light South West wind. With the added bonus of an increase in temperature, it proved to be favourable for fishing.
During this project session the method of Fly Fishing was introduced and it wasn’t long before participants were casting, catching and landing fish using this newly learnt skill. The recently added stocking of Rainbow Trout, kindly donated by DAERA proved a big hit with over a 100 fish being landed on the day.
Special thanks have to go to our Coaches, Volunteers and to the Catering team for excellent food and beverages throughout the day.
Session 3 will take place on Saturday the 4th of March at Beechhill Fishery near Newtownards.
This is an Active Awards Project funded through Sport NI.
